💻 Office 365

We use Outlook for our company e-mails. Office is a hosted e-mail service provider, which means that logging into your @VanderburghHouse.com e-mail address is done by visiting www.Office.com and logging in using your username and password provided for you. This will open a number of applications for you to use, including Outlook for e-mail.

Your Microsoft 365 account will be created for you and for other members of your organization. Contact your administrator for more information.

Office 365 can be installed from the Microsoft website. Use this guide for installation and signing in. This page is a guide for both Windows and Mac installation. For Windows, simply scroll down and follow the step by step instructions. For Mac, after scrolling down click on "Install on a Mac" in the middle of the screen, then follow the step by step instructions.

Your email through Outlook will be an essential tool when staying in touch with Contacts for Outreach, such as the staff and treatment centers or jails. It is most convenient for Contacts and Organizations (Companies) to receive information from you, the Operator, in the form of an email with attachments. Outlook can also be used to coordinate and schedule Outreach events such as Tours and Presentations. See the ⚙️ Outreach section for a detailed outline of what these, and more, entail.

While Outlook will be your primary form of text-based contact for most persons outside of your organization, it will also be used for internal communications with regards to events, information, and announcements from Vanderburgh House. Your Operations Manager may contact you through email to set up a time for your monthly review (see 🗓️ 12th | Review Monthly Report), or to schedule other Operator events, such as a Monthly Operator Meeting, or a home visit from the Operations Manager and/or other staff from Vanderburgh House.

To standardize email signatures across our organization, we ask you to use our standard signature format that is already created and provided for you. You should set this signature as default through Outlook or another email client.

Your title is Independent Owner & Operator. How you introduce yourself is important and you can read more about this in the section 📋 Communication, Choice of Words, Terminology.

You should include the name of your home in your email signature as well.

Your direct telephone number is your 💻 Grasshopper phone number. If this has not yet been set up, feel free to use your personal phone number.

While most documents and document templates have already been created for you and are available for download, use, and sometimes modification in both Teams & Buildium, Microsoft Word (Word) remains a useful tool for document editing and creation. This tool may come in handy when a Resident asks for a Letter of Residency.

Using a Vanderburgh House Letterhead document and pasting your email signature at the bottom into a newly saved document can be quite useful in the creation of new documents, whether for Residents or Outreach purposes.
